Setting up Navigator 365 Viva Connections App without Approving Graph Permissions

If Graph permissions are not approved, you can still set up and use the Navigator 365 Viva Connections card by configuring the Navigator 365 Teams Personal App ID / URL setting. This configuration enables users to navigate from the Viva Connections card directly to the Navigator 365 Teams app without requiring additional Graph API permissions, ensuring smooth navigation while maintaining compliance.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Open the Navigator 365 Viva Connections Card Settings:

   • Access the Viva Connections card for Navigator 365.
   • Go to the card's settings panel to locate the Navigator 365 Teams Personal App ID / URL field.

     

2. Retrieve the App ID or URL:

   • Open Microsoft Teams and navigate to Apps (usually available in the left bar)
   • Locate Navigator 365 Teams App.
     • In most cases it should show up on the first screen under Built for your org section.

     

   • To obtain the App ID or URL for the Navigator 365 Teams app click Open and choose Copy link option.

     

3. Paste App ID or URL in the Settings:

   • Return to the Navigator 365 Viva Connections card settings.
   • Paste the App ID or URL into the Navigator 365 Teams Personal App ID / URL field.

4. Save the Settings:

   • Once you’ve entered the App ID or URL, save the settings to apply changes.
   • Your Navigator 365 Viva Connections card is now configured, allowing users to access the Navigator 365 Teams app without Graph permissions.

Troubleshooting

If you see the error "Invalid app ID or URL", verify that the correct App ID or URL is used.
